A large hall just off the Main Hall. It features a large hearth for cooking with a chopping block, as well as tables, chairs, and benches. A small storage area holds their supplies.

Eilien pretty much danced his way into the dining hall, making a beeline for the storage where the sacks and barrels of food were kept in a dry, cool alcove in the dark. Not that the darkness hindered him any. He climbed on a crate and lifted the lid of a barrel, following his nose to the salted dog meat that lay within. he licked his lips, running his tongue over pearly white fangs. He set the lid down on a nearby barrel and dug in the dog meat one, extracting a hefty side of ribs. He put the lid back on and brought his find to the dining table. taking a seat, he bit into the meat and pulled. The flesh stretched, muscle tore, tendon snapped. Then a chunk separated from the bone, and he chewed it up in a few hasty chews and swallowed it down, savoring blood and meat and gross rawness in all its nasty state. He took another bite, ripping off little piece by piece from the ribs. One of the bones fell away, sliding from its case of grizzle. He cracked the bone with his fangs and began to lap out the marrow.

“Well, I was hungry. But now I’m not.” Legolas had watched most of the whole nasty affair from the doorway. He’d felt no particular urge to get closer. Now, he wandered between tables across the room until he until he stood on the opposite side of the table Eilien was sitting at. He uncapped his flask and took a sip of the liquid inside, glancing around the room. He swallowed and then looked down at Eilien briefly. He wrinkled his nose and looked away again. “I’ve never been a vampire,” he commented idly. “What’s it like?”

"It's like nothing you've ever known," he replied in between bites. "Not even your wildest fantasies could construe all that I am, all that I possess at my fingertips. I am more than can be known or ever will be. Your petty mortal kind finds us fascinating that way, and in that fascination, they seek to destroy us. Like we're some sort of threat. A sabre cat is worse threat than a vampire. Though perhaps less terrifying as they take no humanoid form to seduce and trick its prey. Wolf in goat's hide, or something so they say." he held out his half mangled ribcage to the leash. "Can you cook this for me?" he asked. "I would like it with leeks and potatoes and fire salts."

Legolas bobbed his head mildly in response to Eilien's description of being a vampire. "That sounds fun. I've always liked sabre cats." He was mentally debating whether or not to get something to much on, well away from his little charge, when Eilien held out his hunk of meat. Legolas sighed. "I suppose I can. But does it have to be that? You're already eaten half of that. If I cook real, I could eat some too, but I don't want to eat that. I didn't know vampire ate cooked food."

He frowned. "Fine, cook some for yourself too then. But i still want leaks and potatoes with it. And of course we can eat mortal foods. We don't gain much sustenance, and so I think we do not bother, but I can still taste things." He was still holding out the mangled ribcage bits to Legolas with this sort of angered look that said 'take the damn ribcage already'.

Legolas used his finger and thumb to delicately take the nasty piece of raw meat Eilien held out to him. He kept it at arms length as he carried it over to the hearth. He didn't really know what to do with it. If it was up to him, he'd just throw it away. No one else would want to eat it. Eilien might come back and finish it, but somehow he doubted that. The ribcage temporarily taken care of, he took a pot and headed into the store room. It took him a bit of scavenging through the barrels to find the ones with leaks and potatoes in them, but he found them eventually along with the spices he'd need. He took generous portions of those. Legolas liked spices. He returned to the hearth and plunked the pot down. "Come help me cut things," he said.

Eilien sucked on his fingers till he had gotten the taste of meat off of them, then he wiped them delicately on a rag, one by one, as if he was trying to be especially clean about something. When Legolas spoke, he froze, burning eyes lifting to glare red hot daggers through the wood elf. "And why in the world would I do such a thing?" he inquired in a rather snappish tone, like a slaughterfish trying to bit chunks out of someone's legs. And he was all serious, as if the mere thought of doing such a thing was so foul and beneath him.

Legolas raised an eyebrow and turned to give Eilien a rather concerned look. "Cuz you're going to eat it too? And it'll be faster if you chop stuff rather than sitting there while I do it all? And because I asked you to, I don't know, why wouldn't you? It's not a bad thing." The elf shrugged and turned back to the meat and began cutting it into reasonable sized chunks.

"I am not going to chop vegetables like some lecherous peasant," he spat, crossing his arms across his chest. He crossed his legs too, and just continued to glare with his otherworldly eyes. "Don't ever suggest such a stupid thing again," he growled, "or I'll have to put you in your place, and you won't like it one bit, I assure you that." Satisfied with his little scolding, he leaned back in his seat and turned his eyes to the fire, something he detested.

Legolas straightened up and crossed his arms. "I am not a lecherous peasant," he said indignantly. "If you don't like chopping vegetable then I hope you don't like eating them. I don't eat plants." The elf wrinkled his nose and shuddered at the thought. "I'm making myself some meat. If you would like to have it with potatoes and leaks , like you said before, come over and chop it," Legolas said patiently. He picked up another knife and set it by the potato.

Eilien glared, determined not to be ordered around by this lesser being. He raised one hand, curling his fingers towards his palm. A red, disturbing glow emanated from Legolas, crawled through the air, and disappeared into Eilien's palm as he slowly drained life force from Legolas. "I really want some vegetables, Legolas," he said sweetly, never mind that he was causing Legolas pain.

Legolas glared daggers at the child. "I'm not a vegetable. I would be overjoyed if you would so kind as to stop. Killing me won't get you any." He strained to stand up straight and keep talking normally dispute the horrid feeling of having his energy pulling away from him.

Eilien just glared daggers of his own, but the glare subsided, and he burst out laughing. It was an oddly sweet laugh, as befitting a child, but it was in no way meant to be intended for good. He grinned and extended his fingers towards Legolas, sucking in vast quantities of life force at a time. "How long do you really want to stand against me over something so trivial as this?" he asked, his voice rather low, but heard easily enough. "Are you really as resolute as all that over serious things, or just the petty ones? I wonder..."

Legolas was having a hard time speaking. It made coming up with a witty retort difficult. The draining drag was sickening, even beyond the physical effects he was feeling. He almost, very nearly agreed to do what the creature wanted, but he clamped his teeth over the words. No, nuh-uh, he wasn't going to give up for a bratty child throwing a temper tantrum, even if he was technically hundreds of years old and a powerful vampire, even if it killed him. He'd have to spend the rest of his life knowing he'd bowed down and aquisced one of his most basic principles. He'd live in Eilien's hand. His very purpose would be null.
