"That's good to hear," he said, "well, I meant, at least she is doing well enough." He paused when he heard something, and he turned his gaze to the forest around them. Gods forbid it was Stormcloaks. He doubted Thalmor would be anywhere in this area, but even that would be unwelcome company concerning the kind he kept right now. His hand drifted to his sword belt.

Seres saw him react to something, but she didn't really hear anything. She decided to lower her voice at the moment, finding her hand lowering to the hilt of her sword as well. "What is it?" She whispered, looking out from the corner of her eye to follow Aeris's gaze. She felt her heart pounding faster suddenly.

"I do not know," he replied, his voice low. He drummed his fingers on his sword hilt, not entirely keen on drawing it just yet. "It could be nothing," he said after a moment, seeing as nothing was leaping out at them or making any movements, and there were no more odd sounds. But Aeris could not shake the foreboding feeling that something was there, even if it was not revealed.

"I pray that it was only a small animal. No more, no less." She said, the tension slowly fading away as she looked back at Aeris. That smile returned, despite it faltered a slight bit since paranoia was now kicking in and beginning to frighten her as well.

Aeris stayed watching for a moment longer, then turned back to Seres. "I should probably go," he said, his tone rather bitter. It was annoying that he had come all this way and still time seemed so short. "Maybe another day I can see you again," he said, though it was a promise he felt he would surely regret soon enough. If they faced each other as enemies, well, he didn't know quite what he would do.

Seres kind of felt a tinge when he spoke to her in a bitter tone. But she understood and nodded slowly. "I feel the same... I don't want people to get suspicious." She turned to Aeris, having a strange compulsion to hug him, as if it'll be the last time they see each other. She didn't want to think about it. "I hope I can see you again Aeris. I really do..."

He nodded to her, then tugging his hood down, he turned and headed back for home, or rather headquarters. Home was wherever the Thalmor wanted him to be. Or maybe home was somewhere locked in the past where everything was simpler and Seres could be there without risk of death.

Seres took off in a different direction, letting out a heavy sigh and returning to her current home. Thoughts of Aeris sat in her mind the whole way back.

The heavy clamber of plated boots clanked around as Valnir used his shield to push aside flora growing. Spotting the long dead camp site, Valnir narrowed the red orbs that were his eyes. Something was here, but he didn't feel like seeing how old it was. Pulling a heavy boot free from the mucky ground that slurped at his heels, Valnir drew the oversized bastard sword, pulling his long tower shield closer, peering behind the top of it. Glancing around, Valnir kicked a rock around. Lowering the shield some, Valnir grumbled.
He paused to sit down at a rock, stabbing the sword into the ground to pull the helmet off, rubbing a glove on his face, smearing some of the black facepaint on his face around. The sharp heavy features let out a grumble, scratching at his ear that held several earrings. Specificallly his left ear did. The right only held one. Digging into a pouch, Valnir picked out some of the dried fruits to gnaw on a bit debating his next course of action whether to pillage the crypts or not. Perhaps he'd see what the future held in store before he did.
