Ailas Nindrol. The target of a particular duo of Dark Brotherhood brethren was at this moment cornered at Greywater Grotto with the remainder of his lackeys. They had swords and bows, but what use were they against the superior prowess of these hardened, dangerous assassins. Eilien just watched them from the shadows. He and Legolas had traveled for quite some time and then rested and waited for nightfall before seeking out their quarry. The vampire's eyes glimmered like embers in the dying light of the sunset, and he ducked his head to glance away when the men all began waving torches around. Fire... lovely...

Legolas stood by Eilien's side, totally at ease. Each hand was wrapped loosely around the hilt of a knife, the smoky blades each just over half a foot long. The blades were thin and the knives themselves looked quite delicate, as did the man holding them. The two of them, Legolas and his partner, the boy vampire, they didn't look like much at all, but it hadn't taken the man they hunted and his followers long to realize that they were not to be underestimated. By then, of course, it was already to late. He blinked languidly, his eyes almost black in the firelight, like splatters of blood. He glanced down to his side, towards Eilien. "Shall we let them stew a little longer? They seem very excited," he said just loud enough that his voice would make it to his companion's ears and no farther.

Eilien grimaced, his fangs glinting in the last fiery rays of sunset. "No. We should make this quick as we can, lest we draw too much attention. The Night Mother so despises such charades. But leave the target for last. He is mine... all mine... all of him is mine..." He slowly stood up, a red aura growing around him. "When the sun dies, the darkness shall rise. It's very true you know. But I wonder how well they know of it..." He glanced briefly up at his companion. "Put out their fires. We strike from the shadows like black arrows. We shall make them die crying and screaming for the fear... yes... and then we will cut them off, that they may choke on their own cowardly blood."

"Yeah, okay, all yours," Legolas might have rolled his eyes, but in the shadows where they stood, it would be difficult to tell. He move forward suddenly, but not startling. Every movement was smooth and fluid and gentle and the men never saw him, nor would they before their ends because then he extinguished the flames like a sharp gust of wind. The men, of course, were plunged into panic chaos, but over their tumult, his voice floated through the cave. He spoke lightly, but for the men, it could only be sinister. "Enjoy," he said.

Eilien dropped down to the ground in a catlike crouch, then walked among the panicked men like a phantom while red aura gathered around him. He stretched out his hands, and the red aura suddenly appeared around the men. It swirled through the air and into Eilien's fingertips. It was life drain. Not nearly as delicious as feeding on fresh blood, but the euphoria of absorbing one's very life essence was still high enough to make Eilien smile. Then he drew his dagger from his belt and began to carve the men to pieces, starting from the legs up, as they dropped lower to the ground with his every strike. And when there were not any left standing, Eilin just brushed past their writhing, screaming bodies. If Legolas wanted to cut their throats, let him. They would die soon enough, if the fear and the pain did not get to them first.
