"Better ash than gold, as I like to say." Eva replied, referring to the skin tones of Dunmer and Aldmer. Her people may be Daedric worshiping assholes, but at least they knew how to share the world with others...sometimes, anyway. She glanced out the window again, the sun was peeking behind the city's buildings now. It was time. "Well!" she said in a more pleasant tone as she pushed her chair back and stood up. "It's been a pleasure meeting you, Valnir, but I'm afraid that I have business to attend to, and must take my leave."

Valnir couldn't help but burst into laughter, slamming his hand on the table, leaning back.. "Better ash then gold. Oh by the Gods that is pure love." He wiped a tear from his eye, "I like you, I do hope our pathes cross again some day." He nodded, "Well, do take care. Don't get stabbed, all that good stuff." He rose to his feet to stretch." "That makes two of us," He nodded to her, pulling out a crumbled up bounty flier and looking it over. Turning to pick up his things, "Let's see... A group of bandits... A dog or two seen," Valnir mumbled to himself as he picked up his shield, sliding it onto his back and grabbing the helmet by the horn.

Eva give him a smile, which was slightly forced. She wasn't sure his laughter was one of amusement or mockery...but she guessed that it didn't really matter anyway. "And I shall look forward to seeing you again, as well." She replied. That was a lie, of course, though she did admit to herself that meeting him again would - perhaps - not be an unwelcomed experience. Looking down at her cup of tea again, she picked it up and drank it in one gulp. The liquid clashed with the warmth of her body; ice cold, but with a hint of sweetness. A bit like her. "Well then," she continued, setting the cup down and walking to the building's exit. "Do have fun with your....clients. And try not to get caught."

A chill flowed into the building as the door opened up, and in walked a man clad in some form of ebony armor. The man's face was concealed, only a dull glow below it's eye-slots were visible, and left a very light trail as he looked around the room. "Whom in this room, is willing to lend their sword for gold?" The coarse voice echoed behind his armor. Frost coated his armor in near entirety, as if he had spent an entire week in the snow.

Eva was quite happy to resume her work, but that happiness was quickly dashed when her path out of the tavern was blocked by a newcomer. She halted, and studied him for a moment. "Depends," she finally said after some consideration. "Who's blood is going to be covering the gold?"

"The more important question: Is not whos blood. But how much is it worth?" Valnir replied, adjusting the helmet on his head so the slits lined up with his eyes. "I don't know about her, but I'm not very cheap." He stated outright. Digging a piece of grime out from under the crease in his gloves. Adjusting the ring some, he rubbed the eye-piece to clean it off.

The Man looked at both of the sell-swords whom had approached him. "Hopefully the blood will be in your chalices, and not on the coin." He partially answered the question ominously. "How does One hundred and Fifty, plus whatever loot you obtain. Every week or so, depending on circumstances." His eyes glowed a little more brightly as he finished up his offer.

Eva's eyes shot to Valnir and back. She knew there was a reason she didn't want to befriend him, for now it was a likely possibility that he may become her rival. "Sure, I can work for that much." She answered, allowing herself to have full eye-contact with her possible client to show her interest. "In fact, I do believe I have one more target to go, then I'm free for hire. Not sure I can say the same for my friend here, though." She gestured to Valnir with that last statement.

"I can do it right now, actually." Valnir replied. Throwing the paper away, "Otherwise, let we will discuss these details, perhaps?" He hummed, rubbing his ring to clean it off some again. "Well, I suppose we can get to work with this, because the other pay wouldn't be any better in pay compared to this. What of room and board?" Valnir questioned the stranger.

"The work will begin in several days. For now, you shall be staying at the Inn located in Kynesgrove." He answered as he reached behind him, and had grabbed two separate bags that were tied to a small ring on the side of his armor. Holding one out for each of them, he looked closely at the both of them before he resumed to speak. "These contain your first payment, and Three days worth of pay for your Rooms. I expect to see you both there when I show up."

Why you little... Eva thought with a sudden burst of veiled anger as she watched Valnir toss his paper away. But that anger was immediately replaced with a curious surprise at the stranger. "You want to hire both of us?" She asked with a forced, calm tone. Then, as if suddenly changing her mind, she plucked the bag of gold out of his hand. "Don't like wasting time, do you? Alright, I'll take the job, even if it's not a solo one."

"Could be worse." Valnir hummed, plucking the gold as well to count it out briefly with a glance inside, before stuffing it underneath a plate. He glanced to Eva with a hidden snarky grin. "Come on, my little Elven friend. Let's go see this place and what it's all about." He dropped his hand on Eva's shoulder purposely harder then needed, before taking off ahead of her.

A small glint of the eyes was directed toward Eva, before slowly moving it's vision toward Valnir as he left. "Time is one thing I will always have." The Ebony-clad man had a small chuckle, which others could sense a grin behind his helmet's face. "I'll tell you what I need, when I show up to the Inn." He directed toward Eva, since Valnir had already began to leave.

"Fine by me." Eva replied, then after a paused, added, "still going to kill my one target though. 'Fraid that gold's bit too good to simply pass up." She bounced the bag of septims in her hand to get a general idea of how much was in there. "But for the sake of my new partner, Valnir, I'll make it quick." She added, before placing the purse in her bag and walking away.

"Better hurry, Eva!" Valnir laughed as he took off for his way out of the city. Whistling a small tune to himself, Valnir was tapping his fingers onhis sides to think about some things what he had in mind. WOnering what the small man had in mind, he'd probably find out soon enough. Or he could ask Hermaeus Mora during a night at rest.
