The central courtyard is dominated by a statue of the first Arch-Mage of the College, Shalidor, who is also the supposed founder of the city; this is the hub of the facility, offering access back out to the bridge and into the three Halls. The exterior windows offer exceptional views of the coastline. The courtyard branches off to the three halls of the College.

Lilitha had walked towards the statue, somber and quiet. Clutched in her small hands was a note sent from her invisible brother, Solilas. It read what all of her brother's notes to her usually said: "I'm sorry I'm not there, I have a role to fill", "I bet you have a lot of good companions", "I'm expecting to visit you soon" or whenever "soon" was, and "Please write back to me". She had gotten a ton of notes from her brother, but she never replied to them. She'd always crumple them up or use it to help improve her skills. She disliked her brother for neglecting her, leaving her behind after their parents burned to death and seemingly ignoring her until then. However she couldn't get mad at him. She'd just get sad. This note however just made her confused and a bit miserable. Her brother was coming to visit her soon with a few of his Thalmor companions. But she just wasn't happy to read those words. Lilitha whimpered a little bit before she plopped down on the ground, her back leaning against the statue of Shalidor and crumpled up the note.

Belisarius watched the elven girl with a slight hint of a glare in his eyes. He knew he should get along with her because they were the only kids here, and she was a fellow mage and blah-blah-blah, but she was such a teacher's pet. It was annoying. He hated it. He was sitting on the statue, pressed between Shalinor's neck and shoulder. He packed some snow into a ball and dropped it on the elf girl's head.

Lilitha yelped and jumped up and shot a glance at the statue. She brushed the snow off her head and frowned seeing Belisaruis glaring at her. "W-What was that for?" She asked, a bit pained and not in the mood to be teased. She was always teased because she actually did her work. "That wasn't nice at all..."

"Whatever. I'm bored," he replied, tucking his chin down so his mouth was covered by his purple scarf. He flexed his fingers and drew those back into his sleeves to get them warmed up again, as they were both red and stinging from the cold snow he had just touched. He sniffed and looked back down at her again. "What are you doing out here anyway?" he asked, reaching out to hook an arm around the statue's outstretched arm as he swung himself down and plopped onto the snow.

"Just walking around, I have nothing to do anyways." She answered, even though it was a lie. She was out here to try and get her mind off her stupid, ignorant and selfish brother. He was going to visit and try to connect with her as he said in those many letters that he sent to her. She was still holding the crumpled note, now trying to hide it. She adjusted her cloak to hide her hands.

He brushed off some snow from his cloak and wrapped his arms around his body. "Well, it's kind of a stupid time for either of us to be out here, what with dark growing and all the cold coming on more. Let's go inside and see if there's something to eat."

Lilitha only gave a small nod and began to follow him inside. Her grip on the letter tightened. She really wanted to set that letter on fire... But now wasn't the time. Maybe later. But right now, she kept silent.

It was another rather cold day, Lilitha had wandered outside after a hideous blizzard passed over. She was making tiny snow figures, before crumbling them in her tiny hands. That stupid letter had somewhat faded from her mind ever since, even forgetting that her ignorant brother was coming to visit for a few days. Yet did Lilitha know what was to come.
Arriving at the steps of Winterhold, Solilas adjusted the cloak that sat over his shoulders. He brushed back his long white and braided hair, as if showing off how long it was. He let out a bit of a sigh as he cleared his throat and wondered aloud. "... I hope I can find Lilitha... Perhaps I can ask her if she got any of my letters." His little sister never bothered to write back, or that his letters didn't get to her. Maybe that was the case, but Solilas was well aware that he did leave his sister behind to join the war.

Aeris adjusted his cloak, trying to keep in what warmth he could. The biting winds of these far northern reaches stole his very breath away. He thought he had gotten used to this harsh country's unforgiving ice, but it proved him wrong again: the land could get colder still. He glanced at his companion when the other high elf spoke about family matters. "Just remember that I'm here on business. We need to keep up appearances and all that. Oh, and don't mind whatever we meet. This college is perfectly neutral in all things." As aggravating as that was, Aeris understood why. There were people from all over the world at the college. It would be pointless to drag foreigners into their war.

Solilas rolled his eyes when Aeris wasn't looking, almost forgetting that someone of much importance was here that he had to come with. "I know I know." He assured him with a short and semi-frustrated sigh. He walked up the steps, walking into the college and pausing. He thought he saw a tiny girl with bright blonde hair rush by. Then again it could be many other things. and such.

Aeris reached over and patted Solilas' shoulder. "Before you go off, let's meet with the Arch-Mage. Then you can ask after your sister." He gave the high elf a knowing look before dropping his hand and heading off for the Hall. He just barely knew his way around here from the one time he came some years ago. Nothing had changed.
