"As hard as it is to get the ingredients for these high demand potions and as high a cost as they're sold, I'm just baffled that so few people know basic healing spells," she remarked as she cut more flowers. "We wouldn't have as much an excuse to get out of the city then, I suppose. I guess that's just how things work out."

"To our benefit then?" he remarked, putting the flowers in his satchel. He didn't know any spells, though he was sure he was a fine mage in his past. Most mer were inclined that way anyway. He looked at Vaynrileth again, noting how much she was gathering.

"That it is," she agreed. "The ignorance of someone tends to benefit another." She had gathered all the blue mountain flowers she need, so she willed the bound dagger to vanish. She put her cut flowers in her satchel. "I say we just wander whichever way our feet take us for the rest of the day or so now that this pesky flower is out of the way," she suggested.

He finished gathering his clump as well, sheathing the dagger in his belt and stuffing the rest of the flowers into the satchel, a few of them loosing their petals and showering the snow with blue. Irdrin rubbed his forehead with the back of his hand for a moment. "By your command."

"Southward into Forsworn territory, or Eastward into the marshes?" she asked aloud. Either way they could get their fill of adventure. She ran a hand through her long black hair as she looked from one direction of the river to the other.

"Whatever suits you best, my lady," he replied with a low voice. He honestly was not sure what he would prefer.

She felt more inclined to venture southward for whatever reason. "Southward it is then," she declared before starting off down the river bank southward. She figured she could also obtain some briarhearts through that land as they went as well.

Just as she reached her conclusion, he realized he liked Eastward better, but she was the master and he was the slave. He nodded to her, trying to think of what dangers and intrigue lay in store for them down there. Hopefully it will be somewhat warmer, he thought, just as the snow started to fall in a flurry.
